About this Death Cafe

I have been hosting Death Cafes in Medway for over 3 years now, and have made some wonderful friendships, and for those I only met for the one meeting, I hope they know the lasting mark they made on my heart. 
I usually am joined by my partner in crime, Natasha Boardman Steer - a shining light of a person running most of the community events in Medway, and fellow death aficionado. 

We are certainly the youngest Death Cafe hosts I've met, neither of us having reached our 40s yet, but our old souls welcome people of all ages. We are ferociously inclusive of minorities, and we have changed venues from Rochester to Brompton to be more disabled friendly.

About Candy Penfold

I am Candy, an end of life doula and NHS clinician. I have worked with the dying for many years, and have studied with Living Well Dying Well as an end of life doula, to better support those facing death. 

I'm a mum of 2 young boys, with a home full of flora and fauna, and my favourite things are cake, tea, and talking about the big questions. Death Cafe just seems to be made for me.
