About this Death Cafe
We'll be celebrating Dia de Los Muertos with our first Death Cafe!
We have had a great response to our 'East of Lake Washington Death Cafe' soon to be known as 'Eastside Death Cafe'. We are full with a waiting list! We are expecting a little over 30 particpants.
We are deeply grateful to Evergreen Hospice for providing us a beautiful and comfortable environment to gather, as well as all the refreshments and 'of course' cake!
About Everegreen Hospice
Host: Paige, I work in end-of-life care, and volunteer for hospice bereavement services. This has grown a sense of wonder about death and dying.
Facilitator: Char Barrett. I have been a hospice volunteer since the early 90's. I was inspired to volunteer after the death of my father and childhood girlfriend. I have since made my avocation my vocation and help educate about alternatives funerals.
Organizer: Criss East. For the past six years I have been the Coordinator of Hospice Volunteers for Evergreen Hospice. I became intersted in death and dying after losing both of my parents on hospice service in the 80's.
