About Aspen Heisey
Aspen Heisey is a Life-Cycle Celebrant living in Guelph Ontario Canada. When she was 7 years old in 1966, her 2-year old brother drowned in the farm pond. She and her siblings watched the unfolding event, no one shielding them from it. She realizes now what a gift it was to encounter this "predicament of mortality" as a child. Learning early on what death is, the cultural boundaries around death, and subsequent deaths that she attended, all of these contributed to an awakening passion around helping people "do death better." Talking about it is a good start.
