About Francesco Campione and I.A.T.S International Association of Thanatology and Suicidology
I.A.T.S. (The International Association of Thanatology and Suicidology), founded in Mexico City by Alfonso Reyes Zubiria and Francesco Campione, aims to:
- promote the multi and interdisciplinary study of death, dying and of all connected topics;
- promote all forms of genuine and effective assistance to the terminally ill patients and their families also in the grieving process;
- promote all forms of genuine and effective assistance to Suicides and their Families;
- provide help and support to all those involved in the fields of Health, Thanatology and Suicidology;
- organize seminars, congresses, university courses, and other academic activities for Thanatologists and Suicidologists.
Francesco Campione is Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology and Crisis Psychology at University of Bologna. He is the Director of the Postgraduate Masters in Palliative Care and Pain Management and of the Corso di Alta Formazione (Professional Masters) on Basic psychological support for bereavement following natural or traumatic death. He is the founder and Director of ZETA, Rivista Italiana di Tanatologia (ZETA, Italian Journal of Thanatology; coordinator of the Service of Crisis Psychology at the Department of Psychology of the University of Bologna; founder member and President of I.A.T.S. (International Association of Thanatology and Suicidology). He is also the President of the Associazione Rivivere, a network that promotes free bereavement assistance to grieving people and families.
